Help and FAQ

Questions about Clarified

Payments, booking, privacy and what a session covers. If your question isn't here, get in touch.

Payments and pricing

How much does a session cost?

Each expert sets their own rate, and you see the price for 15, 30 and 60 minutes before you book. The price shown is the total you pay: there are no subscriptions, joining fees or extra charges.

Is payment secure?

Yes. Card payments are processed by Stripe. Clarified never sees or stores your card details.

Can I get a refund?

If something goes wrong, for example technical problems or the expert not showing up, contact us and we'll review your case individually. Where the session didn't go ahead as booked, we'll refund you.

Booking and sessions

How do I book a session?

Find an expert who covers your topic, choose 15, 30 or 60 minutes and a time that suits you, add a short note about your question, and pay by card. You only create an account at that point.

Do I need to prepare anything?

It helps to write down your main question, for example "Am I saving enough for my first home?" or "Should I consolidate my debt?", and to have any relevant numbers to hand.

How do I join the call?

Open the session from your dashboard at the booked time. The call runs in your browser, so there is nothing to install. A camera is optional.

Can I talk to the same expert again?

Yes. You can book another session with any expert you've spoken to before.

Privacy and security

Are the calls private?

Yes. Each session takes place in a private, encrypted video room that only you and your expert can join, and sessions are not recorded. We don't share your personal or financial details with third parties.

Will the expert try to sell me something?

No. Experts don't sell financial products through Clarified. Their role is to help you understand your situation and your options.

Scope

Is this regulated financial advice?

No. Clarified is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Sessions are guidance: an expert helps you understand your situation and your options, but won't recommend a specific regulated product. If you need regulated advice, your expert will tell you.

Is Clarified only available in the UK?

Yes. Experts focus on UK rules, tax and products, so sessions are for people with UK finances.

What can I ask about?

Anything about your own finances within the topics experts cover, such as buying a home, debt, saving and investing, wills and inheritance tax.
